Quality & Sourcing

The standard behind every delivery.

Quality is not a claim we make once — it is a chain of small, careful decisions from the moment a product is received to the moment it reaches your kitchen.

Our approach

Three things have to be true before we deliver.

The cold chain has to hold. The product has to be safe and traceable. And it has to be sourced from people we trust. Get those three right and quality takes care of itself — so that is where we put the work.

Cold-chain integrity

Kept cold, every step of the way.

Temperature is the difference between fresh and spoiled, and it is unforgiving — one warm hour can undo everything. We treat the cold chain as a continuous handoff, from the loading dock to yours.

  1. 01

    Receiving

Deliveries are checked and logged on arrival, temperatures verified before anything is accepted, and product moved into the right storage without sitting on a warm dock.

  2. 02

    Cold storage

Chilled, frozen and dry goods are held in dedicated, temperature-controlled conditions and rotated so stock moves in the order it should — first in, first out.

  3. 03

    Delivery

Orders are loaded and moved in temperature-controlled vehicles, so the cold chain that started at receiving is still intact when the order reaches your door.

Food safety

Safe to serve, easy to trace.

Wholesale food carries real responsibility, and we take it seriously. We work to Canadian food-safety standards and keep the paperwork tight, so that if a question is ever asked about a product, the answer is already on file.

  • Handling and storage aligned with Canadian food-safety standards
  • CFIA-registered supply partners behind our protein program
  • Lot and supplier traceability so any item can be tracked back
  • Careful separation of seafood, meat and dry goods to avoid cross-contamination

Responsible sourcing

Sourced with the next season in mind.

Good sourcing is not only about today's plate — it is about there being a plate next year. We favour responsibly sourced seafood, work with trusted meat and dry-goods suppliers, and choose partners whose practices we are comfortable standing behind.

Seafood

Wild-caught and responsibly farmed, chosen with an eye to how and where it was harvested — not just what it costs.

Meat & dry goods

Trusted producers and established pantry suppliers, held to consistent quality so what you order is what arrives.

Questions about a product's sourcing?

Ask us anything about where an item comes from or how it is handled. If we do not have the answer on hand, we will get it from the source.
